My family and I recently moved to Porto and, with the help of the Portugal Company, purchased a new home. I can´t imagine going through this process without their help. In fact, I’m sure it would not have been possible without them. Simply trying to arrange visits of properties that are actually available would have been difficult. (Portuguese realtors often “bait and switch” with listings of properties that are already sold.) And even if we had somehow managed to locate a property, it would have been a nightmare trying to negotiate a deal and navigate paperwork – I’m sure we would have felt that we’d been taken advantage of. Not only are Pieter and Alice super friendly and welcoming, but they are also incredibly well-versed with the “ins and outs” of the Portugal real estate market. They are shrewd negotiators and helped avoid costly mistakes. They are also great communicators and were always available to answer our questions and put our minds at ease. Purchasing property in another country can be overwhelming, but it was nice to have them explain the process and make it less daunting.
